Since childhood, I’ve witnessed a recurring cycle: boys and young men who displayed emotional sensitivity, who needed attention, affection, or simply protection, were often emotionally manipulated or belittled by those with stronger, more traditionally “masculine” traits. At first glance, these men seemed like protectors—charismatic, confident, assertive. But beneath this surface, many carried their own emotional voids: relationships they couldn’t sustain, partners they failed to emotionally satisfy, and insecurities they masked with dominance.
